Elysian Fields
I love the group Elysian Fields! It turns out that my friends Sarah Murcia and Vincent Segal played with them during their recent concert in France. I just regret the absence of their pianist (Ed Pastorini) during this tour as alchemy guitar / piano works great on discs. Oren Bloedow, excellent guitarist and group leader with the sultry singer Jennifer Charles, came home four days ago to record a guitar on a song as part of a project that I speak to you again soon. We needed a second guitar and the game was not won because the piece was almost finished, it still lacked that certain something that makes the difference. Sarah Oren proposed to attempt a small plug. I found myself with the guy from the opening bars I was impressed by his ideas and originality. Everything seemed obvious! I knew the albums but when it goes live is something else. We recorded six outlets whole during which he built, with among others the use of many pedals, a beautiful scenario. Beautiful meeting, unfortunate that lives in New York!

Once a year the first Saturday of June, Dante Street decided to make a night of partying to honor the Ninth art!
Each gallery, every bookstore, every shop, create its own event, and partygoers will get from one point to another freely to meet the designers. And since there is no celebration without banquet, restaurants and bars across the street Dante will be well with the colors of the comics!
In this unique place in Paris: the Rue Dante Street comic strip, a ceremony will be organized and reward the artist of the year and a sweepstakes to win and comic books other lots.
This initiative is supported by Lyne Cohen-Solal, Deputy Mayor of Paris, Head of Trade and Adviser to the 5th District.

Albert Uderzo , born April 25, 1927 at Fismes (Marne), is a designer and comic book writer French.
Albert Uderzo, born Alberto Aleandro Uderzo, the son of an immigrant family Italian discovered the comic book with Mickey Mouse at the time published in Le Petit Parisien. It was his brother, Bruno Uderzo, discovering his talent led him to a Paris publisher. During the war, he was hired by Paris publishers, and learned the basics of business: the lettering, sizing text, image editing ... As part of his work he met Calvo, who urges him to persist in the drawing. His first publication is made in 1944 in Junior: a parody of the fable by Jean de La Fontaine "The Crow and the fox." Until the late '40s, Uderzo hard worker: he illustrated novels creates Belloy, Prince Rollin and Buck Arys OK, participates in Captain Marvel Jr. Bravo, is a reporter for France Sunday and works daily France Soir with Paul Gordeau by making drawings of comic vertical crime does not pay and The Loves famous.
In 1950, invited to Brussels, he met Victor Hubinon, Eddy Paape and Mitacq and screenwriter Jean-Michel Charlier, with whom he created new adventures Belloy. That's when he met the screenwriter with whom he worked the most during his career: Rene Goscinny. Their first collaboration is a topic of etiquette, published in women's weekly Good Evening. They created the series for Junior Jehan gun and Luc Junior.
In 1955, with Jean-Michel Charlier and Jean Hébrard Goscinny, Uderzo founded a union, split into two separate agencies: Edifrance and Edipresse. He continues to produce boards in abundance and Benjamin Benjamine and Bill Blanchard (with Goscinny) for La Libre Junior, Clairette (with Charlier) Oumpah-Pah, Poussin and winded, the Family and Family Moutonnet Cokalane (all with Goscinny ) in Tintin.
In 1959, Uderzo Helps Launch Driver illustrating two of his series-titles: Tanguy and Laverdure, a series of realistic aviation written by Charlier and Asterix the Gaul by Goscinny scripted comedy series, which from that date, gets a great success. Faced with this, Uderzo gradually abandoned during the 1960s all other series. In 1967, Uderzo moved to Neuilly-sur-Seine. With Goscinny, while making a story about a year, he carefully oversees the development of products (latex figures to spin-offs Dogmatix). In 1974, the two authors create Studios Dogmatix to control the adaptation in design Animated adventures of the Gauls.
Goscinny's death in 1977 deeply upset Uderzo, who nevertheless decides to continue Asterix. His solo debut album, The Great Divide, was published in 1980 at Albert René, publishers that created following a dispute with Dargaud. From the outset, Uderzo is facing criticism that its first scenarios are similar to those of Goscinny, keeping the tone and humor unique to the series with a real talent, the quality will still be around longer contested 2000s. The public, it continues to set the plebiscite, whose latest albums have appeared are the biggest draws in the history of European comics.

Makan Kamilya Jubran's
Things never turn out quite as planned, and often our most good. Listening party my friends from the festival Duoud Africolor, I came across a first gig: a duo. A woman sings, accompanying herself on oud in a language I do not understand, a man plays electronics (samplers, computer, various pedals ....).
The vamp, an unfamiliar and magical emerges, poetry in its purest form! I let myself be surprised, I conquered, I am moved.I just met Kamilya Jubran and Werner Hasler. I go home, the music still ringing in me and I realized that anything could stop it.My friend Sarah Murcia happening at home two days later and handed me an audio cd "Listen, you really do something!". I do not listen to the disc but lets talk about the Palestinian friend with whom she plays sometimes. I realize she tells me about Kamilya Jubran, I told him the concert, we welcome this incredible chance and then ....I call my friend Frank Jaffré, which gave me a collection on the label Zig Zag, and I told him that the first draft. I do not even need to listen to the disc models, I know it will be magnificent. We'll save Kamilya playing solo (singing voice and at the same time of course) of songs whose texts were written by Arab poets alive. Words on space travel, meeting ....We decide to register with Sarah every day in a different place. We go to Grenoble, where we held with some valuable allies our five working days.I stayed with Frank and equipment: laptop in Pyramix, Prism converters, Nagra D and a lot of microphones (Brauner, Schoeps, DPA, mini dpa, Neuman M 150). Wehave successively worked in the concert hall of the Museum of Grenoble, in the vast hall of the MC2 at the Hexagon in the little church of St Blaise and .... in a field (Plateau Puech).Very nice experience to be changing every day, trying to better adapt to the acoustics in trying to capture the flavor while preserving the intimacy of this music and the subtle intentions Kamilya. I make new friends as this bird was meant in the song "Yaday" (the church) or the fly that landed a split second on the membrane of one of the microphones in " NaBD ", recorded in Nature. The result is very surprising and very beautiful ....I tried to record every song by creating three levels:- Proximity with a Brauner on voice and another on the oud, a mini CCA out of the oud and another on the front Kamilya a pair of Schoeps and Neumann M 150 even on the side. That's a lot but we are probably not everything but I prefer to provide as Kamilya with the first dose may be good- A pair of DPA 4041 to about 2 meters- A couple of M150 below, sometimes much further. Every dayKamilya waited patiently as we were finishing we install, ready to play the signal. Each day she gave us the beautiful music. Every day we were brilliant.

Carla Carla at May 2
Day of recollection and friendship in the chapel of Carla
The month of May is traditionally dedicated to the Virgin. Sunday, May 2 at the initiative of the association, the Chapel of Our Lady of Carla opened its doors to welcome friends and faithful pilgrims a day.
A large audience gathered a fervent and attended the Mass presided by Father Bernard DUMEC, Father Michel Abbey Lagrasse acted as acolyte.
usual Carla Hymns and songs to the Virgin, accompanied by synthesizer Madame Arnaud, rang again under the arches of the chapel.
After a final song of meditation on Mary, the faithful are grouped behind the cross for the procession to Calvary with the usual song "the Angelus on Carla." At the top, Father Bernard conducted the blessing of the harvest. For him it was his last Mass in the chapel, since after September 1, it will support, at the request of Bishop Planet, a large part of the Minervois: St. Vincent's Parish in Narbonne.
The aperitif, then served in the fold, was the occasion of meetings, exchanges and sharing. Many people like to gather in these places. They find their memories of childhood, their friends, their special attachment to the Marian shrine.
This year, our treasurer, Jean-Luc can not be free for this day, we had proposed a simmering stew. The 150 guests at this convivial meal have appreciated this dish hot taste to its fair value. The traditional
bougnettes Martha were much appreciated. To finish the meal and warm up, before descending to the plains, the coffee was welcome.
appointment is made for Sept. 5, on the occasion of the feast of the Nativity of the Virgin.

Digressions SPRING 2008

Between the months of May and late July 2008 I worked on other mixes between the trio of Ronnie Lynn Patterson (with Stephen and Louis Moutin Kerecky) and recording / mixing two disks oboist Jean Luc Fillon (On the Reed Again and Oborigins).
I will focus first on the project of my friend William Humery alias "New King of Klezmer Clarinet," disc of the same name with an excellent cover and particularly well at the photo. Even if you do not like the clarinet, I recommend you go take a look as the guy is cocky!
Flanked by his three henchmen, Denis Cuniot (excellent pianist well known to us) and brothers Giffard (on trombone and tuba Benoit, Alexandre at tapan), I have installed in the great room and has been forced Sequenza quickly After the user trials, to isolate the tapan (instrument Percussion particularly vicious in its peaceful air has quickly overtake the entire range of sound) in a cab. It allowed me to record the piano with more acoustic surroundings. I recorded the clarinet with two microphones Schoeps Tube (221 F) in omni. I will return to the microphones that are exceptional and I am more and more as they crush the builders of modern references (though excellent). The problem is related to their fragility, but I ended up sending them to Peter Drefahl in Germany for reviewing and producing new supplies to replace the old ones. These microphones resume service and therefore show much References pretentious.
Guillaume played with exceptional virtuosity, I must say it is better to have the breath when we baptize his drive way .... I mixed the disc without particular problems and is released by Buda led by Gilles Fruchaux I salute in passing.
Would you ever imagine that one day I work for the star academy? Rest assured, this is not so simple. My friend Ilan Abou bassist (met with William Balde) with Thierry Faure co arranger of big band to accompany selected by Mercury Mosiman Quentin asked me to remix the entire disc. To scheduling reasons we were unable to record and mix together. So I reopened the case and I enjoyed this work both for the quality of the orchestra for the trust.
I mixed just before the disc Daniel Humair "Baby Bonus Boom 'I mentioned earlier. I attacked first in the most delicate piece (lots of "repisses" infernal) to find the color. After a day's work I came to a satisfactory result. Mathieu Donarier wanted to resume refining some scales, I warned that we could not go further. After completing his proposals the letter we found that it was no use, mixing with its previous shortcomings walking much better. Once the problems are settled on this piece, the rest of the disc was easier to mix (playing weaker players, arrangements more transparent and easier to read). Congratulations to Christopher Monniot on his brilliant idea of mounting. We had trouble with a solo guitar piece in a generally satisfactory but ... he had to try something. We took another solo piece (same beat but different composition) and have inserted (the quintet entire course). Frankly I did not that it would work. I spent two hours editing to keep the fluidity and refine the nuances ..... and it worked.
The day I received the disc (Bee Jazz), I rushed to listen and see if this arrangement was still working after three months (of course he had not mutated, but the passage of time sometimes reveals cruel truths). Incredibly, it worked so well that I wondered if I listened to the good bit!
blow a bit, I'll be back soon to talk about "Makan" disc Kamilya Jubran

What Is The Price For L.a. Fitness
SCOOP: WALT DISNEY was a genius but not a GREAT DESIGNER! .. Why
Walt D isney was an incredible businessman and a great visionary. But it was not a great draftsman. It why the number of original drawings signed by him are rare. Most of the characters that made him immortal was designed by its employees. It was also one of his great qualities as knowing well surrounded. Mickey was created by Ub Iwerks , Scrooge by Carl Barks . But Disney affixed his signature and control over everything that came its studios.
The " Donald " above is worthy of a child's drawing. It was however given a dedication
house comedian ( Donald Crisp ) by Disney himself - himself. Without doubt he would emerge from a private collection 50 years later ... Disney was nevertheless a great organizer. From its studios out hundreds masterpieces that so enchanted the entire planet.
The GALLERY Slomka presents fifty works great. Some are rare or valuable. Most remain an affordable price and will delight collectors (and sophisticated investors).

Genital Warts On Somach
Hello dear readers. I am guilty I confess. I had abandoned, neglected my blog and I agree that it has lasted too long. This has happened a lot since disc recordings Bojan Z (see the report done by Antoine Gresland on his site "to listen to see") and travel to Istanbul. I first received my new console SSL C 200 that sits now in my studio in Paris. I think this is the group Duoud (Smadj and Mehdi Haddab) which opened for the album "Ping Kong", unless it be the disc of classical music works composer Zelenka released by Zig Zag.
I recorded at the studio of Philippe Avril (April Tex) Part 2 of the project by Daniel Humair Baby Boom released on Bee Jazz. I knew there would be a delicate mix of work and demanding, but do not expect!
