has long had in mind to test one day apple pie, as the other side of the Channel.
different recipes I consulted, and I concocted my own: a shortbread with lemon zest and flour chestnut stuffing and apple slush. I cooked stewed apples before, but ultimately I think it should have been put in the raw dough and bake it directly.
And finally, I had to put nuts on the dough, because inside the room they have lost their crispness.

Spread 2 / 3 of batter into a cake tin (I used a pastry circle), prick with a fork.
Cut apples into chunks. Sprinkle with sugar, melted butter, cinnamon, lemon zest, stir and pour over batter in pan.
Top with remaining dough spread. Make a few small slits with a knife. Arrange walnut halves, brush with milk and sugar.
Bake for 30 to ... minutes until the dough is golden.
Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream or fresh cream (or anything, it's also very good believe me!).
